Mumbai: Tata Chemicals continues to accomplish its dream of a healthy nation post winning the Product of the Year award in the water purifier category by visiting various cities through Tata Swach mobile vans and creating awareness about safe and healthy drinking water in every Indian household. Keeping up to its promise of ensuring that every family is educated of the ill effects of consuming unfiltered water, the Tata Swach team is organising a showcase-on-wheels campaign across cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Lucknow and Nagpur to reach out more effectively to masses and thus educating them on waterborne diseases and the importance of purified drinking water through interesting games. The Tata Swach mobile van is visiting Mumbai this month. Sabaleel Nandy, head, water purifier business, Tata Chemicals, said, “Waterborne diseases are the greatest threat to the country’s health, and it is of national importance that people are educated about the same. Tata Swach is happy to visit multiple cities across the country through which we aim to connect with consumers and provide affordable access to safe drinking water.” In India, diseases such as diarrhoea, jaundice, typhoid, cholera, polio, and gastroenteritis are spread by contaminated water. They cause more than 1.5 times the deaths caused by Aids and double the deaths caused by road accidents. In response to this challenge, Tata Swach — a unique and innovative water purifier — provides safe drinking water at a new market benchmark of Rs30 per month for a family of five. The campaign is open to the public to have a better understanding of healthy living and about Tata Swach’s endeavours to provide affordable access to purified drinking water in every Indian household. Tata Swach welcomes all to join hands in the pledge to build a healthy nation. |
