Lonavla: Continuing with its philosophy of enhancing educational standards in

power utility, had organised extra coaching classes in Sangishe and Nesave
villages for English, mathematics and science subjects. With the help of these coaching classes, the high school in Sangishe recorded 100 percent result, with all of
its students passing with flying colours.
The extra coaching classes have made a remarkable difference in the academic performance of SSC students from Shirwata and Kundli catchment villages in the 2012 board exams.
Speaking on the achievement, Headmistress of the high school of Sangishe, Sunita Vanjari said, “Extra coaching classes held by Tata Power helped our students to perform better in the board exams and as a consequence, for the first time, the school has achieved 100 percent result. All the 34 students who appeared for SSC board exam from our school passed with good marks.”
Topper of the school, Deepesh Garud from Khandshi village said, “Notes and exercises provided in the extra coaching class and the tips on paper writing skills helped me to score 90 percent marks in the SSC board exams. Of all the subjects, I found the coaching given in Science the most fruitful.”
Speaking on the initiative, Mahesh Paranjpe, Head, Hydros, Tata Power, said, “Last year we started the extra coaching classes at the end of December. Students got only two months for preparations and yet yielded such amazing results. This year we are planning to start the coaching classes earlier and will also appeal to girls to continue their studies for pursuing higher education.”
