Advinus Therapeutics is a research based pharma company promoted by the Tata group. The company is the first of its kind in India to offer end to end development services to the global pharma, agro and biotech industries while creating long term value through internal and collaborative drug discovery.
The company has research facilities in Pune and Bengaluru.

| Facilities: |
About 40 per cent of the facility is devoted to chemistry labs, 20 per cent to animal houses and a further 20 per cent to biology screening labs. |
| Work focus: |
The focus of the research is to discover novel therapies in the areas of metabolic diseases (diabetes, obesity, lipid disorder, etc), inflammatory diseases (arthritis, psoriasis, asthma, etc) and neglected disease (dengue, malaria, etc). |
| Achievements: |
Currently five full-discovery programmes are running under a collaborative format and for internal research purpose. |

The centre has two collaborations, one with Merck, USA, for novel drug discovery in the area of metabolic diseases, and another with a large pharmaceutical of equivalent size and reputation, also for drug discovery in metabolic diseases. |

The centre was managed by Rallis India and acquired by Advinus Therapeutics in August of 2005. The company has doubled the size of the original centre and extensively upgraded the buildings and infrastructure to international standards. The renovated facility became operational in February 2007. |

About 50 per cent of the facility is devoted to regulatory safety assessment labs, 10 per cent to chemistry and analytical labs, 10 per cent to DMPK and bio analytical labs and a further 5 per cent for miscellaneous labs. |
| Work focus: |
The centre focuses on providing preclinical and early clinical development support to global pharma and agro companies.
It specialises in developing IND packages for regulatory submission which includes providing CMC services such as process chemistry, analytical chemistry, formulation R&D and stability testing, and safety assessment services such as regulatory toxicology and safety pharmacology. Additionally it also supports late discovery and early development through its DMPK, Clinical Pharmacology and bio analytical services. |

Creation of new capabilities in pharmaceutical process chemistry, drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, and clinical and safety pharmacology.
Successful filing of data generated by the centre at global regulatory agencies such as USFDA, US EPA and EMRA.
First of its kind alliance / collaboration with Swiss based NDi for discovery and development of a novel treatment for V. Leshmaniasis. |

The centre has a collaboration with the Swiss not-for-profit company, DNDi (Drugs for Neglected), and a master service agreement with two of the largest agrochemical companies and one large pharma. |
