Infinity
Retail, a 100-per cent subsidiary of Tata Sons, today
announced its plans to launch their national chain of
multi-brand outlets of consumer electronics and durables
in Gujarat. These mega stores, branded "Croma",
will offer the country's widest range of products across
categories and brands, Ajit Joshi, managing director
and chief executive officer, told a news conference
here. Each of these mega stores will be large format
stores and offer consumers more than 6,000 products
across eight categories of consumer electronics and
durables.
Croma, the first pan-Indian large
format electronics mega store chain, will launch their
first two mega stores in Ahmedabad shortly, followed
by an additional 15 stores across Gujarat. Croma, which
was launched last year, is already operating two mega
stores in Mumbai and will soon be launched nationally.
For Croma, Infinity Retail has entered into a technical
and sourcing agreement with Australian retail giant,
Woolsworth, which currently operates more than 2,000
stores across Australia in 12 different formats.
Croma will offer products
across eight categories, viz, home entertainment, small appliances, white goods,
computers and peripherals, communications, music, imaging and gaming software,
Joshi added.
