Discerning travelers rank Taj Hotels amongst the world's best

Taj Hotels wins accolades for its dedication in continuously innovating and providing guests with world-class hospitality

For over a century, Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces have been among the top choice of affluent travellers from across the globe. The numerous prominent international awards and accolades received consistently over the years by Taj Hotels; bear testimony to its dedication in continuously innovating and providing guests with world-class hospitality. Reaffirming its position as one of the leading hotel chains in the world, Taj Hotels have recently received some prestigious accolades at the Conde Nast Traveler (US) Readers’ Choice Awards 2005. The awards are based on the ratings received from a sophisticated group of well-travelled readers of Conde Nast Traveler, who have ranked hotels from across the globe on various criteria, which include food / dining, location, overall design, rooms and service.

The accolades received by Taj Hotels include:

  • Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur featured in the Best of the Best Hotels category, wherein top travel experiences in the world were rated by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler and compiled under this category.
  • The Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur and The Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, Mumbai featured in the Top Hotels across Asia category.

Conde Nast Traveler is one of the most respected and acclaimed magazines in the world of travel. Every year since 1988, a select sample of Conde Nast Traveler readers have taken the Readers' Choice Survey. In 2005, a questionnaire was made available to 387,205 subscribers: 289,403 subscribers were sent by mail one of several partial, 16-page editions of the survey; and 97,802 subscribers received an invitation to a secure website that contained the complete 84-page questionnaire. Mediamark Research, Inc, of New York City, did the final tabulations of 27,957 responses.

Earlier this year, the UK and US editions of Conde Nast Traveler magazine had named Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Mauritius, in the 2005 ‘Hot List’ that featured this year’s top new hotels. The magazine’s US edition had also featured ‘Wasabi by Morimoto’, the contemporary Japanese restaurant at The Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, Mumbai, in the 2005 ‘Hot Tables’ that included the best new restaurants of the year.
