Taj
Exotica, Goa wins international readers choice
award for spa interior
December 11,
2005
The
Taj Exotica, Goa, continues its award-winning spree
in the form of yet another international tribute: The
SpaFinder Readers Choice award winner for Worlds
Top 10 Best Spa Interior Design.
In a communication sent by Susie
Ellis, president, SpaFinder, she writes to Helmut Meckelburg
(former area director Goa, currently general
manager of the Taj Palace Hotel, Dubai): "Congratulations
!
Our readers selected Taj Exotica, Goa, India, as one
of their Top 10 Favourite Spas this year in the category
of Best Spa Interior Design." She adds a personal
handwritten note: "Our readers have spoken and
hoping this recognition will garner additional interest
in people visiting your very special spa."
The winners were listed in the
recent edition of the SpaFinder Worldwide Directory.
This is the third year in succession that the readers
have voted online for their favourite spas worldwide.
This years poll was contested by over 500 spas,
and new categories were added, amongst them Best Interior
Design, Best Accommodations and Best for Men.
The top 10 vote getters in each
category have been listed in alphabetical order, rather
than by the number of votes received, in a bid to level
the playing field between larger or more established
spas, and smaller or newer ones.
Thus, the spa at the Taj Exotica
Goa rubs distinguished shoulders along with the Bellagio,
Nevada (USA), The Grand Wailea Resort & Spa, Hawaii
(USA), Samas at the Park Hotel Kenmare (Ireland), the
Cal-a-Vie, California (USA) and the Lake Austin Spa
Resort, Texas (USA) amongst others.
This is yet another feather in
the cap of the Taj Exotica, Goa, which earlier this
year won another spa award the Conde Nast Readers
Choice Award for Taamra Spa (amongst Asia spas) 2005.
The hotel has two spas, the authentic ayurvedic Taamra
Spa, and the Jiva Spa which features traditional Indian
and also selective international treatments.
Besides these, the Taj Exotica,
Goa, has also been the recent recepient of the FeBusiness
Traveller Award for Best Leisure Hotel in India 2004,
Best Leisure Hotel of the Year (Taj Awards for Business
Excellence) 2004, and the Marque of Excellence Award
2004 by Thomas Cook.
It is a favourite holiday
destination of international clientele as well as celebrities
and dignitaries ranging from the former prime minister
of India, Mr Vajpayee, the honorable president of India,
Dr Kalam, the king and queen of Nepal, the prime minister
of Lesotho, the sheikh of Bahrain, the external affairs
minister of Afghanistan, the US ambassador to India,
Mr Mulford, the chairman of the Russian Federation,
and the princess of Thailand, and most recently, the
vice-president of Uganda.
