Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai turns 100

The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel completes 100 years today. On this special occasion multi-religion prayer ceremony and acts of charity across all Taj hotels in India were performed. The prayer ceremony started at 9:15 am at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai in the Crystal Room. 

After the multi-religion prayer ceremony managing director, 
Raymond N. Bickson, in his address spoke passionately about the heritage and the legacy of the Taj and its future challenges. Addressing the gathering the chairman, Ratan N. Tata impressed about taking the Taj to greater heights and recognised past and present generations for their efforts. 

The programme was followed by a welcome song 'Om Ganeshay Namah' by challenged children from ‘Save the Children India’. Balwadi children performed the song 'Mere Desh Ki Dharti Sona Ugle' and 'Sathi Haath Badhana' was in harmonious melody by hearing and speech impaired children from Special Care Centre.

Lunch was offered to children undergoing cancer treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital; Happy Home School for the Blind, Worli; S.P.J Sadhana Special School and for the support program of the Family Service Centre, Colaba.
