Exotica wins Thomas Cook Award

The Taj Exotica, Goa has
won the coveted 'Best Winter Long Haul Hotel 2003' award
within the JMC / Thomas Cook Brands. The award was presented
to Helmut Meckelburg, general manager and area director
– Goa, by the chairman of Thomas Cook, at the 'Partners
in Excellence Awards 2003' held at Madame Tussaud’s
in London, on November11, 2003.
The Taj Exotica scored an unbeatable 100 per cent score
in the questionnaires filled out by guests who had stayed
at the hotel during the last year.
The award comes
on the heels of the 'Hotel of the Year 2003' award that
the Exotica won in the leisure division of the Taj Group
of Hotels. A 140-room
property, the hotel is located on the pristine beaches
of South Goa, India, and offers exclusive luxury and
international standards of services to its guests.
The hotel's three speciality restaurants have won it
the 'Taj Business and Excellence Award 2003', and has
been rated among the top 10 Taj restaurants in the country.
A fourth restaurant, 'The Lobster Shack', operates during
the peak season, and is a hot favourite among the charter
tourists.
The hotel has also been conferred the ISO 14001 award,
for achieving and maintaining the set standards of environmental
excellence laid down by the international governing
ISO body.
Among the hotel’s other attractions are its two nine-hole
golf courses, the new authentic ayurveda spa 'Taamra',
which offers stress-relief packages, and it’s exciting
'TEX Kids Club' that offers children a chance to explore
and learn while on holiday.
