IHCL opens
Ginger hotel in Pune November 13, 2006 The
Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has unveiled another GenNext 'Smart Basics' Ginger
Hotel at Pimpri Chowk, Pune, the latest addition to the growing chain of Ginger
hotels across the country, which includes Bangalore, Haridwar, Bhubaneshwar, Mysore
and Thiruvananthapuram. The 100-rooms hotel was inaugurated on November 10 by
Tata Motors managing director Ravi Kant in the presence of Roots Corporation CEO
Prabhat Pani and other dignitaries. Speaking at the launch, Pani said: "It
gives us great pleasure to unveil our first Ginger Hotel in Maharashtra. Pune
holds tremendous potential for this innovative category of hotels. Apart from
being well-connected, Pune is also becoming a hub because of its extensive economic
activities, trade, commerce and manufacturing, which makes it an extremely important
city on our domestic circuit."
By the end of this current financial
year, Ginger hotels will also be unveiled in Nashik and Durgapur. Work on other
Ginger hotels has also commenced in Goa, Pondicherry and Agartala and will also
commence work on hotels in Tirupur, Varanasi, Pantnagar, Baroda and Ahmedabad,
amongst other destinations within the next couple of months. |
