September
15 is D-day for the Indian Hotels Ltd when the
Taj Wellington Mews Luxury Residences opens for
occupancy. It is the country's first luxury residences
that will give a wholly new dimension to luxurious
living. The hotel will open with 35 per cent occupancy
according to Mr Sunil Taneja general manager who
has been associated with the construction of the
complex since it started about a year and half
ago. Mr Taneja who has been trained in the concept
of luxury residences has visited and studied similar
luxury residences like China's Ritz Carlton, West
in Hotels, and Singapore's Shangrila, among others.
Business model luxury residences safeguard against
recession in the hotel industry as bookings are
for longer periods. The luxury residences will
have a business centre with secretarial services
and video conferencing, a small library, medical
facilities with a doctor and even a elevator made
specially to carry stretcher patients from the
apartment straight to the basement. There is also
a jogging track in the premises and close circuit
TV which will monitor the entire building so that
one can get immediate attention if anyone is injured
or needs help.
One of the unique facilities is the tie-up that
the Taj Wellington has with the Maharashtra State
Lawn Tennis Association and the CCI which will
enable its residents to use their facilities.
And if their guests bring their own pet dogs with
them, there are pet workers who will walk their
dogs for them.
