Voltas wins the prestigious Contractor of the Year Award 2017 in Dubai
Two awards accorded – Contractor and Plumbing Project of the Year
Mumbai: Voltas, the global air conditioning and engineering services provider of the Tata group, won accolades at the glittering MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health) Middle East Awards 2017 held in Dubai. The company was recognised as the MEP Contractor of the Year.
The jury unanimously agreed that Voltas has an excellent international footprint, having worked on iconic projects, won recognition from clients and certified project professionals, not to mention its debt free books.
Voltas also won the Plumbing Project of the Year Award for the Regent Emirates Pearl Hotel-Grand Hyatt in Abu Dhabi. The MEP scope of this project was not only complex but required special expertise and smart execution. Judges noted that the project stood out for re-using and re-cycling site water to minimise overall potable water consumption.
Speaking on the occasion, AR Suresh Kumar, general manager, projects & corporate business development, Voltas UAE, said “We are extremely proud of our achievements. Voltas has been operating in this region since the last 40 years and we are glad our efforts have been recognised. We select our projects in such a way that we are able to do justice to the market and leverage our capabilities to the fullest. There are a lot of opportunities; it is for the contractor to select what he wants rather than just going after everything.”
Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) Middle East Awards 2017 is in its 11th edition and has been recognising excellence in MEP design and installation, underpinning iconic projects contributing to the evolving and rapidly maturing construction landscape in the UAE. Pioneering companies that have played a pivotal role in the advent of green building in the UAE are being recognised by this award. The areas of business considered include air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, water treatment and related services. This year the MEP Awards featured a total of 16 titles, broadly divided into three categories of People, Projects, and Companies.
The International Operations Business Group (IOBG) of Voltas, as a turnkey electro mechanical solutions and services provider, has executed several prestigious, iconic and complex projects in 35+ countries over the last four decades across various applications. While the core offering of the company continues to be MEP solutions for diverse applications and industries, dedicated teams have been set up to expand and accelerate growth of its MEP operations and maintenance and water treatment offerings across regions.
