The award was presented to Tata Power-DDL for its models: Patented Smart Sensor for Tamper Evident Metering, Silicone Therapy in Cables – Tree Retardant Performance and its Social Innovation model Leaders from Learners.

The model Patented Smart Sensor for Tamper Evident Metering uses a unique smart sensor to digitally stamp the meter with information of tampering, including time and date in case of any attempt of power theft. The second model – Silicone Therapy in Cables - Tree Retardant Performance – helps in improving the life of power cables through silicone therapy, aiding in prevention of damage to the power cables.

With its third model, Leaders from Learners, Tata Power-DDL is making the women residing in JJ and resettlement colonies socio-economically stronger. These women are being trained as social workers and part-time company messengers, propagating the social message through door-to-door campaigning and encouraging womenfolk to ensure timely payment of electricity bills in order to avail associated schemes’ benefits.

The CII Industrial Innovation Awards were instituted by CII in 2014 to recognise and celebrate innovative Indian enterprises across industry segments and over last three consecutive years it has established itself as one of the most coveted innovation awards in India.
