New Delhi: To make life easier for its consumers, Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDL) has introduced meter reading service via WhatsApp. With the service, consumers can send meter reading along with the photograph to the dedicated WhatsApp No. 9667558009.

The service has been introduced to help consumers in case the readings are not captured from the site due to non-availability of consumer or instances like premises being locked. The readings shared by the consumers via WhatsApp will be marked as ‘Consumer Brought Reading’ and treated as provisional. The bill generated will also carry the same (as CB Remark). No more than 2 provisional bills will be generated on the CB remark and the 3rd Bill will be compulsorily on readings captured from site as per the process.

Commenting on the launch of the service, Sanjay Banga, CEO, Tata Power-DDL, said, “Tata Power-DDL has always cared for its consumers and listened to the consumer voice. The service has been brought keeping in view the consumer inputs of meter not being read due to locking of premises on various occasions. The introduction of WhatsApp service will provide more convenience to the consumers and will be a step towards achieving customer delight.”
