Fujitsu - Tata Consultancy alliance bags £896 million order from National Health Service, United Kingdom

An £896 million contract spread over 9 years will help the National Health Service in its drive to improve healthcare for patients in the southern region of the UK. As part of this programme, TCS will provide clinical application implementation and data migration. Incidentally, TCS is the only Indian organisation to be involved in the coveted NHS project.

TCS' Life Sciences and Healthcare practice will implement a part of the large project bagged by the alliance and TCS expects a billing in excess of £120 million from this deal over the next 9 years.

Commenting on the win, Mr Ramadorai, chief executive officer, TCS said, “We are delighted that our alliance has bagged the prestigious project from the National Health Services. We look forward to working closely with our alliance partners and providing our expertise in data management and application implementation to meet the goals of the project. Our focused approach and strong domain expertise have been integral to this win amid stiff competition.”

The project team includes Fujitsu as prime contractor, IDX Systems Corporation for the core clinical application, Tata Consultancy Services for clinical application implementation and data migration, Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP for security and training; and BT for systems integration.
