Novi, Michigan: Tata Technologies, a global leader in product life cycle management (PLM) and engineering services outsourcing (ESO) was awarded an International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Award of Honour for its 'Better Innovation on Tour' event series presented throughout 2010, at the IABC Detroit Chapter Annual Renaissance Awards event in June 2011.

'Better Innovation on Tour' was a multi-state series highlighted by the display of the Tata Technologies Better Innovation Tata Nano automobile at each stop April through November 2010. Tour stops included client sites, industry events including the CAR management briefing seminars in Traverse City, Michigan, and universities including Harvard.

Tata Technologies played a key role in engineering the Nano, which is produced by Tata Motors in India, for the Indian market. The company used the car to highlight its full-vehicle engineering and design capabilities to clients, engineering students and select automotive and engineering media.

“An innovative approach to presenting engineering capabilities,” noted one judge. “Impressive management of logistics and communications on a tight budget,” said another. Judging was conducted by IABC officials in the Chicago Chapter.

The Nano featured in 'Better Innovation on Tour' is owned by Tata Technologies and was on loan from its Centre for Advanced Engineering and Design in Pune, India. It was the first-ever Nano displayed in North America. In November 2010, it was returned to India, in accordance with US Customs regulations.
