Tata Chemicals' fertiliser division wins Greentech Platinum Environment Excellence Award

 

The Greentech Foundation, based in New Delhi, is a non-profit organisation established to promote education, training, research and dissemination of knowledge on matters of environment management, and to advance the scientific, technical and practical aspects of wastes management and climate change to safeguard the environment. 

Every year the Foundation presents the Greentech Environment Excellence Award to organisations / companies in recognition of their outstanding achievements in the field of environment protection.

The Greentech Foundation is governed by an advisory committee and awards are given the by the technical committee consisting of officials from the Ministry of Environment & Forests, the Central Pollution Control Board, the State Pollution Control Board and reputed scientists, technocrats and specialists nominated by various organisations.

Platinum, gold, silver and bronze awards are given to various industrial sectors. This year the 'Greentech 2003 Conference on Environment Management' was held at Khajuraho (MP) from December 10- 12, 2003 in the presence of various delegates from government and industrial sectors.

The only two companies to be selected for the awards were Tata Chemicals, Babrala, and IOCL, Gujrat Refinery. The awards were presented by Mr H. L. Bajaj, chairman, Central Electricity Authority.

About the Greentech Environment Excellence Awards:
The awards are presented for the period April - March every year to organisations / companies / individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of environment protection. 

Interested organisations / companies / individuals, may send documents in support of their environmental achievements and the Environmental Audit Report from the State Pollution Board for the year. Individuals, technocrats, scientists, companies, research and development organisations, professional and academic institutions are eligible to participate.
