Voltas is proud to be a partner in the development of the Ferrari Experience in Abu Dhabi.  The company has bagged an AED 330 Mio project for the turnkey electro-mechanical works. 

The Ferrari Experience will be the centrepiece of Abu Dhabi’s $40 billion Yas Island project. Developer Aldar Properties’ vision for Yas Island is “to become the world’s foremost tourism and leisure playground”.

Designed by Italian architect Massimo Losa Ghini, the Ferrari Experience promises 24 attractions that will promote the Ferrari brand.

The rides include a water ride through a massive Ferrari engine and a high-tech simulator ride involving a 70m high ‘g force’ tower mimicking a racetrack’s cornering forces. A twin roller-coaster ride, a world’s first,  is also planned. Driving experiences will be offered in the only Ferrari driving school outside the automaker’s base in Italy. Other family-friendly fares include an Italian piazza, an interactive museum, a theatre for live performances, and Ferrari stores.

The theme park is a dome-shaped structure. The base area covers a circle of nearly 330m diameter with peak dome height of 45m. The building has three levels – undercroft (+3.95 m), mezzanine (+8.9level) and plaza levels (+11.95m).

Voltas’ scope of  work includes MEP services for all landlord (ie, common) areas and an interface of these services with tenant area services. Tenant areas are on shell and core basis, ie, provision is made for the connection of the MEP equipment in the tenant areas.

Major electro-mechanical systems being supplied, installed and commissioned by Voltas include air handling units, chilled water pumps, 2,000kva transformers, 22kv HV switchgear, fire alarm system, central emergency battery system, smoke aspiration system and fire-fighting system.
