Telecom player, Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL), is aiming to add about 45,000 subscribers in Gujarat for its various USB-based internet devices, which include Photon Whiz and the newly launched Photon Plus. Of these, TTSL expects to sell around 30,000 units of Photon Plus, a wireless broadband internet device which offers speed upto 3.1 mbps in the next one year.
Talking about Photon Plus at its launch in Gujarat, Naveen Bhasin, chief operating officer, Gujarat circle, Tata Teleservices Limited said, "The Photon Plus should fulfill the ever-increasing demand for mobile broadband internet device and get us a 30 per cent market share in Gujarat in this segment."
According to Bhasin, the market for such internet data devices will be 2.5 million in India in next one year, 10 per cent of which will be in Gujarat.
For its mobile phone vertical, TTSL expects to add 75,000-80,000 subscribers in the month of September in Gujarat. "We are banking on our recently launched pay-per-call scheme to give us an exponential growth in mobile subscribers," Bhasin said. Last month, the company added around 20,000 subscribers in Gujarat.
