Established by JRD Tata in 1956, TAS is the flagship leadership development programme that grooms young talent for challenging leadership positions in the Tata group. It offers cross-functional opportunities across diverse industries and geographies, broadens perspectives and gives future managers a chance to learn from the topmost leadership.
TAS recruits from select B schools and from within group companies. It adopts a life-cycle approach to career development of high-potential talent and is committed to providing each high-potential manager with the necessary developmental inputs, functional and behavioural, at every stage in their career to enable smooth transitions across roles and levels, ensuring effective delivery on the job.
TAS aims at developing general managers and functional specialists, keeping the need of the group in mind. The programme begins with a month-long induction with the objective of familiarising TAS managers with the ethos and values of the Tata group, in addition to the scale of operations, and the industries and sectors the group operates in.
