Telcon to manufacture new model of dumper
Telcon, a subsidiary of TELCo in collaboration with Hitachi construction machinery of Japan would manufacture a new model of dumper, TELCo managing director Sarosh Ghandy said here on Friday.
The first vehicle which will be manufactured in the Jamshedpur plant would roll out in the middle of 2002, Ghandy told PTI here. Telcon was set up in March 30, 1999 to produce wide range of hydraulic excavators in the country. Telcon products include TATA wheel loader, TATA excavator, crawler crane and wheel and back hoe loaders. Earlier in 1984 TELCo had collaborated with Hitachi in 1984 to manufacture hydraulic excavator, which are now produced by Telcon,sold 500 units last year.
Ghandy said Telcon has made fresh investment of Rs 35 crores this year for promoting Uclay-Hitachi products. The company has a 56 per cent market share in excavators, he added.
