TCS into expansion drive in Trivandrum

Tata Consultancy Services is going for a major expansion drive and has acquired an additional 12 acres of land at Technopark, Thiruvananathpuram.

The company currently has 2.15 acres of land at Technopark, where it has a modern training centre spread over 57,500 square feet. It has a capacity of providing training to 600 new entrants at a time with each programme being of four months duration.

According to Mr. Mahalingam, chief financial officer, TCS, "The company has very aggressive growth plans and so we have decided to expand our training college at Technopark in Thiruvananthpuram with the acquisition of the additional land. It is our desire to make the training centre a global one where all the recruits would be trained. We are extremely happy with the support we have received from the local authorities and the state of Kerala, and we seek to make the training facility similar to the General Electrics facility in Croutonville, USA."

Mr. Rajiv Vasudevan, CEO, Technopark said, "We are delighted with the TCS decision to expand its presence in Technopark."
