TACO named GM's supplier of the year

Tata Auto Comp Systems (TACO) has been named the 'Supplier of the Year' by US auto giant General Motors (GM) for the third consecutive year in a row. The company was given the award for its overall business performance in providing GM with world-class parts and services, TACO said in a release here. "We consider TACO to be a role model for all suppliers. They are recognised as a GM 'Supplier of the Year' because they exceeded our expectations in 2005," GM Vice-President of Global Puchasing and Supply Chain Bo Anderson said.

The GM 'Supplier of the Year' award began as a global programme in 1992 with winners selected by a global team of executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics, who base their decisions on supplier performance in quality, service, technology and price.
