TCS' Hinjewadi facility in two years
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has plans to develop its biggest campus at the 50-acre land at Hinjewadi Phase III, which is part of an MIDC promoted Special Economic Zone. According to Abid Ali Neemuchwala, general manager, head TCS western region, the campus would be completed in phases within 18 to 24 months. While addressing media persons through video conferencing, he said that the Pune center would focus on several verticals like banking and financial servies, hi-tech services, manufacturing and engineering vertical and some service areas would be catered too.
The Pune facility will have 1000 people by the year-end. TCS is also looking at a tier-II Indian city to set up infrastructure where it will make business sense. The criterion for setting up centre in any tier-II cities would be sound infrastructure, connectivity, and good educational institutions. Currently no BPO services would be provided from the Hinjewadi campus as the BPO service of TCS is delivered from Mumbai for western India. TCS would later consider providing BPO services from Hinjewadi.
