Tea
Tata Tea, among India's first
multinational enterprises, has a host of big brands. The
Tata Tea brand leads the Indian market in terms of value
and volume. With an area of 26,500 hectares under tea
cultivation, the company produces around 60 million kg
of black tea annually. The following are the major brands
in Tata Tea's portfolio.
Tata
Tea Premium: This is the largest-selling packaged
tea in India and also the largest brand in the Tata
Tea stable. The tea is procured by the company from
its own gardens and is available across the country
in pack sizes up to 1 kg.
Temptation:
This tea, made from handpicked tea leaves grown
in Assam in north-eastern India, offers connoisseurs
the best of taste and aroma. Temptation is sold in packets
of 250 grams.
Kanan
Devan: This brand is sold in the Indian states of
Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Goa. Kanan Devan has
been known for over eight decades and was launched as
a brand in consumer packs in 1985. The tea is procured
from Tata Tea's plantations in the Kanan Devan Hills
in Munnar, Kerala.
Chakra
Gold: A blend of high-quality Assam teas, Chakra
Gold is the No 2 brand in the premium tea market of
south India. It is available in sleek, trendy and extremely
attractive packaging.
Agni:
A strong tea that is available across India, Agni
was launched in the economy segment of the packaged
tea market and is today the top-selling brand in this
space. It is the second largest brand in Tata Tea's
portfolio (in volume terms).

Tetley
A subsidiary of Tata Tea, this company offers a wide
