The Tata Group provides financial products and services in the areas of investment and share registry through four companies: Tata Asset Management, Tata Capital, Tata Investment Corporation and Tata Share Registry.

Tata Asset Management is one of India's fastest growing fund-management companies. Established in 1995, it is also one of the oldest fund management companies in the Indian private sector. The company offers a wide range of investment products for institutional and individual investors, with schemes which include equity / debt and balanced options across the risk-return spectrum.
  • Tata Pure Equity Fund: Invested in fundamentally undervalued companies with a medium-term horizon.
  • Tata Equity Opportunities Fund: Aims to capitalise on opportunities in the equity market from time to time.
  • Tata Life Sciences and Technology Fund: Invested mainly in fast-growing, intellectual property-driven, new-economy sectors.
  • Tata Select Equity Fund: Invested predominantly in growing basic sectors.

  • Tata Dividend Yield Fund: Invested predominantly in stocks with higher dividend yields than that of the Sensex.
  • Tata Tax Saving Fund: Equity-linked tax-saving scheme.
  • Tata Index Fund: Invested only in companies comprising the S&P CNX Nifty index / Sensex.
  • Tata Balanced Fund: Balanced exposure to both equities and debt.
  • Tata Young Citizens' Fund: Balanced scheme — with neither debt or equity allocation exceeding 50 per cent at any point of time — exclusively for children between three months and 18 years.
  • Tata Income Fund: Invested in high-quality fixed-income securities.
  • Tata Gilt Securities Fund: Invested only in government securities (also offers a 'retirement planning series' targeted mainly at trustees of retirement funds.
  • Tata Short-term Bond Fund: Majority investments in short-term, fixed-income and money-market securities.
  • Tata Income Plus Fund: Invested in high-quality debt securities.
  • Tata Dynamic Bond Fund: Moves across asset and maturity segments to take advantage of dynamic interest-rate scenarios.
  • Tata Floating Rate Fund: Pure-debt scheme, invested only in good-quality floating-rate debt, fixed-rate debt or money-market instruments swapped for floating returns.
  • Tata Liquid Fund: High-liquidity scheme invested in fixed-income securities or money-market instruments issued by highly rated corporate borrowers.
  • Tata Monthly Income Fund: No assured returns; primarily invested in debt securities with a small percentage (up to 10 per cent of net assets) in equities.
  • Tata MIP Plus Fund: No assured returns; monthly income scheme that invests up to 20 per cent of assets in equities and balance in quality debt and money-market instruments.
  • Tata Fixed Horizon Fund: Fixed maturity scheme with a series of options having different maturity dates.

Tata Capital
Tata Sons has set up a wholly owned financial services subsidiary, Tata Capital to broaden the scope of its existing financial businesses. The company provides services ranging from capital market services, housing finance, assets and vehicle financing, retail finance, merchant banking and management of private equity investment among other related activities.

Tata Capital's basket of financial products and services for the retail customer include:

  • Distribution and broking: Sells mutual funds, IPOs and trade shares through its network across the country, augmenting its distribution reach significantly.
