The
Tata company Rallis manufactures a wide range of agrochemicals
that are specifically targeted to meet the requirements
of the Indian farming community, with emphasis on rice,
cotton and vegetables.
Tie-ups with companies such as
FMC, Monsanto, Sumitomo, Mitsui and Nihon Nohyaku have
helped Rallis introduce internationally proven products
into the Indian marketplace at regular intervals.
Asataf: A 75-per cent
SP formulation of acephate, a versatile organophosphate
insecticide with contact and systemic action. It is
particularly effective with severe infestations of sucking
and chewing insects on tobacco, sugarcane, cotton, chillies,
vegetables, fruits and cereals. It has low toxicity
to mammals and does not harm beneficial insects. Asataf
is easy to use and soluble in water. It is available
in pack sizes of 100 gm, 200 gm, 500 gm, 1 kg, 5 kg,
10 kg and 25 kg.
Contaf: A 5-per cent EC
formulation of hexaconazole, an excellent triazole fungicide,
highly effective against sheath blight of paddy, leaf
spots and blights on all types of crops and powdery
mildew of crops like grapes, chillies, etc. Contaf is
available in packs of 100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml, 1 litre,
5 litres and 10 litres.
Contaf
Plus (SC): This is an improved version of Contaf
EC in terms of formulation and active ingredient content.
Contaf Plus is available in packs of 100 ml, 250 ml,
500 ml, 1 litre and 5 litres.
Acephate
technical: A versatile organophosphate insecticide
with both contact and systemic action, and with minimum
acephate content of 97 per cent. Acephate technical
comes in 50-kg fibreboard drums (for export, UN-approved
packaging material).
Hexaconazole
technical: This has a broad-spectrum protectant,
eradicant and systemic fungicidal action. It belongs
to a new class of triazoles, hexaconazole. The technical
is available as a 92-per cent w/w and is available in
50-kg fibre drums for domestic sales and in 25-kg and
50-kg fibre drums for export.
Aminos:
A bio-stimulant based on amino acids, metallochelates,
hydrolysed proteins and phyto-stimulants, capable of
improving crop yields and the quality of end-produce.
It is available in 50-ml, 100-ml, 250-ml, 500-ml, 1-litre
and 5-litre HDPE bottles, and bulk packaging of 50 litres
and 200 litres.
Master:
A powder formulation of 64 per cent Mancozeb + 8 per
cent Metalaxyl, a combination fungicide effective against
downy mildew of grapes and other crops. It is also used
to control late blight of potato and tomato, blotch
of onion, damping off in tobacco, cardamom, etc. Available
in packs of 25 gm, 100 gm, 250 gm, 500 gm and 1-kg E-flute
cartons with inner packing.
Tata Mida:
This is a systemic insecticide containing Imidacloprid
17.8-per cent SL active ingredient. It is used as a
foliar spray for the control of BPH in paddy, sucking
pests in cotton and some other insects in different
crops. Suitable for use in integrated pest management,
it is available in packs of 50 ml, 100 ml, 250 ml, 500
ml and 1-litre HDPE bottles.
Tata Mida
70 WS: A novel insecticide belonging to a new generation
chemical group called Neonicotinoid. When applied to
seeds it is absorbed by the developing roots and translocated
to the growing shoots and leaves and systematically
acts against a variety of sap-feeding insects. This
is available in 5-gm pouches.
Reeva:
This 2.5 EC formulation is a leading synthetic pyrethroid
insecticide equally effective on lepidopteran as well
as sucking pests. Lambdacyhalothrin is a new-generation
photostable pyrethroid insecticide for the control of
a broad spectrum of chewing and sucking insect pests
in agriculture. It is one of the more potent compounds
ever to be commercialised and offers excellent cost-effective
crop protection as part of most management systems.
Available in 250-ml, 500-ml, 1-litre and 5-litre pack
sizes.
Tata Metri:
A 70-per cent WP formulation of Metribuzin and an effective
herbicide against narrow, broad leaf weeds of wheat,
potato, sugarcane and tomato. The dual-action Tata Metri
controls weeds from both foliar and basal application
and is available 50-gm, 100-gm, 250-gm and 1-kg packs.
Nagata:
An EC formulation of Ethion 40 per cent + Cypermethrin
5 per cent, this was the first combination insecticide
in India (with Ethion as combination partner). It is
highly effective against all types of bollworms on cotton,
and leaf-eating and fruit-boring caterpillars in a wide
range of vegetables and pulses. It is also effective
against whiteflies on cotton and vegetables. Available
in packs of 100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml, 1 litre and 5 litres.
Rogor:
A 30-per cent EC formulation of Dimethoate, an organophosporus
insecticide with excellent systemic, contact and acaricidal
action. It is highly effective against a wide range
of sucking pests, chewing insects and mites. It is a
safe insecticide and does not leave persistent residues
in the environment. It is ideal for aerial spraying
because of its low toxicity. Available in pack sizes
of 100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml, 1 litre, 5 litres and 20
litres.
Dimethoate
technical: An organophosporus insecticide with excellent
systemic, contact and acaricidal action. The technical
is available as 95-97 per cent (w/w). Available in 50-kg
steel drums.
Furadan:
A 3G formulation of Carbofuran, this is the most popular
granular insecticide in India. It is extensively used
for the control of all types of stem borers in rice
and sugarcane, rice BPH and fruit and stem borers in
vegetables, and also has excellent nematicidal action.
Furadan is available in 1-kg, 5-kg, 10-kg and 25-kg
HDPE bags.
Marshal:
A 25-per cent EC formulation of Carbosulfan, a carbamate
insecticide with contact action, this is used for the
control of stem borer in paddy and vegetables. It is
also effective against sucking pests such as aphids.
A unique carbamate insecticide used for seed treatment,
it protects seedlings of the treated seed from attacks
by sucking pests for 20-25 days after sowing. It is
mainly used in cotton but can also be used with vegetables.
Available in 100-ml, 250-ml, 500-ml, 1-litre and 5-litre
aluminium EOE containers.
