Tata Tea and its subsidiary, Tata Coffee, are major growers, manufacturers and exporters of spices. Tata Tea deals in whole spices such as turmeric fingers, chillies, ginger, cardamom, nutmeg and spice seeds. The company set up the Tata Spices Centre, in Kochi in southern India in 1990, with a modern pepper processing facility for whole black and white pepper.

Tata Coffee's main spice offering is pepper, which it supplies to large establishments as per their requirements. The company also grows cardamom at its estates in southern India.
