Tata Cummins, a 50-50 joint venture between Tata Motors and Cummins Engine Company, USA, manufactures low-emission diesel engines and is a pioneer in the field of supplier quality improvement (SQI).

The company manufactures four- and six-cylinder versions of Cummins B-series engines, with a number of ratings between 80 and 235 horsepower. The automotive B-series engines manufactured by Tata Cummins are used on 25 different vehicle models, ranging from 16 tonnes to 40 tonnes gross vehicle weight and wheelbase from 3.2 metres to 5.9 metres. These engines are used in buses, trucks, tippers, trailers and car carriers.

The company's industrial B-series engines are used in excavators and also sold in the generators market for 85kVA, 100kVA and 125kVA power rating
