Studies in India Programme 2007-08

The Sir Ratan Tata Trust awards scholarships to students studying in India. The scholarship covers tuition fee at the undergraduate or postgraduate levels, excluding hostel and other fees.

For the financial year 2007-08, the trust will issue scholarship forms from its office for the following courses of study only:

LL M - 1st year onwards

MCA / MCM - 1st year onwards

Cut-off percentages for other courses are as follows:

  1. For undergraduate / postgraduate students studying law, catering and hotel management, education and fine arts, the cut-off percentage is 65.
  2. For MCA / MCM the cut off percentage is 70.
  3. The cut-off percentage for postgraduate students studying pharmacy is 70.
  4. For postgraduate nursing and architecture students, the cut-off percentage is 60.

Students who meet all the above criteria and wish to collect the application form can do so from the address given below. They should bring along a photocopy of:

  • Current year's tuition fee receipt (April 2007-March 2008). Second year, direct admission students should carry their centralised admission letters.
  • Mark sheet of the last examination appeared for.

Outstation students who meet the trust criteria can send the above-mentioned documents by post to the trust office latest by September 25, 2007.

Dates for issuing forms: September 26, 2007 to September 28, 2007

Last date for form submission: October 12, 2007

Timings: 11.30 am to 12.30 pm (Trust office is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.)

Please note:

  • Students will not be issued forms if they:
    (a) Have been waived from paying tuition fees.
    (b) Have received a full scholarship from trusts / organisations.
    (c) Are receiving a stipend.
  • Students who have passed their 12th (HSC) and have secured admission to the first year of pharmacy, nursing, architecture or LL B (five year) courses are not eligible for the scholarship.
  • No forms will be issued to students studying diploma, part-time, correspondence or certificate courses.
  • Only one student per family may benefit from the scholarship, each year.

Please note that the issue of scholarship application form does not guarantee scholarships from the trust, and the trust's decision would be final.
