football coaching camp at Bhubaneswar

A football coaching
camp for school children in Bhubaneswar was organised
by the Tata Football Academy (TFA) from September 27
to October 1, 2003. Vijay Kumar, assistant coach TFA,
was deputed to instruct the 52 boys who reported for
the camp. The camp was inaugurated by the sports secretary
of Orissa. Two training sessions were held every day
for four days.
The final day of the training camp witnessed the minister
for sports, Ranendra Pratap Swain speak of Tata
Steel’s contribution to organising the camp and requested
that some of the camp participants be sent to Jamshedpur
to the TFA so as to experience the training regime there.
The students were presented with tracksuits with the
words 'Sports is a way of life – Tata Steel' emblazoned
on them. Vijay Kumar came back very satisfied and pleased
with the performance of the boys during the camp.
