Aiming
to repeat the success stories of Indian soccer colts
in the Milk Cup and Ian Rush trophy last year, the Tata
Football Academy boys would take part in the invitational
youth tournament, Harlem, cup to be held in Germany
in July this year. Besides the foreign exposure. TFA
was planning to tie-up with overseas clubs for players’
exchange programme and to facilitate trials by TFA cadets
in those outfits, Satish Pillai, chief of TFA and sports
division of Tata Steel told PTI. “It’s not our intention
to only feed the clubs in Kolkata and Goa, but we want
to see our cadets playing in foreign outfits as well,”
Pillai said. TFA was also looking for a full-time quality
foreign coach for the academy, he added.
