Paes to play in Tata Open

Indian ace Leander Paes, who had been offered a wild card into the singles draw of the ATP Tata Open tennis championship, has confirmed his participation in the event scheduled to be held in Chennai from December 30 to January 5.

This is the first time in the history of the tournament that three singles wild cards have been awarded to Indians. The other Indian wild card entrants are Rohan Bopanna and Prakash Amritraj. Leander Paes will also be teaming up with David Rikl of the Czech Republic for the doubles.
