Tata Open wild card for Rohan

The number one Indian tennis player Rohan Bopanna has been given a wild card entry into the ATP Tata Open tennis tournament to be held in Chennai from December 30 to January 5, reports PTI.

“I am really excited about playing a tour event and it is a matter of pride for one to play in one’s home country,” the 22-year old Bopanna was quoted as saying in a press release here on Monday.

Bopanna had a fine run this year moving up from outside 1,000 to 353 in ATP rankings. Bopanna won two ITF Futures titles and reached the final of the Asian Tennis Championships in Tashkent.
