Infiniti Retail, a 100-per cent subsidiary of Tata Sons, launched Croma, its first national chain of multi-brand outlets for consumer electronic and durable products. Australian retail giant Woolworths will provide technical support and strategic sourcing facilities from its global network. Tata Sons Chairman Ratan Tata and Roger Corbett, Independent Consultant, Woolworths, Australia, jointly launched the first Croma store in Juhu, Mumbai spread over 20,000 sq ft of space with more than 6,000 products across eight categories like home entertainment, small appliances, white goods, computers and peripherals.

Taj Hotels made plans to expand its Kerala presence with the launch of a new hotel in the region. The company is working in conjunction with the Kerala government and Khanna Hotels to develop a premium beach resort in Bekal, in north Kerala.

Tata Consultancy Services announced the launch of integrated materials management online services (IMMOLS) for the Indian Air Force. A nationwide systems integration project addressing computerisation needs of inventory control and logistics management of the Indian Air Force (IAF), the project received an investment of Rs 55 crore. Immols has been implemented in a distributed manner at the IAF stations and replaces the current manual system for materials management.

Tata Sky covered 237 cities in Gujarat for its satellite service since the launch of the service three months back. The company's geographic reach has covered more than 3,500 cities across the country. With a network of 14,310 dealers across India, there are plans of having one million subscribers within a year and nearly 10 million by 2010.

Tata Teleservices Maharashtra (TTML) plans to introduce a host of applications in partnership with Qualcomm, TCS, US-based Kodiak Networks and OnMobile. The plans will cater to the "fast-growing" enterprise businesses with a focus on providing a range of end terminals and seamless connectivity targeted at sectors including BFSI, retail, hospitality, government, transportation, and pharmaceuticals.
