Gaurav Garg is the managing director of Tata AIG General Insurance. Joining the company in 2000 as head of its Personal Lines Profit centre, Garg assumed additional responsibilities for regional operations in the Middle East, Sri Lanka and Pakistan in 2002. In 2004, he was appointed vice president, AIU Personal Lines, New York, and undertook responsibilities for operations in Europe, CE / CIS, MEMSA, South East Asia and Australasia. He was also responsible for the agency and distribution of personal insurance services across the world.

Garg has been involved in many start-up operations in the above-mentioned regions and countries, and has participated in activities for improving operations and transfer of best practices. Before joining Tata AIG General Insurance, he enjoyed a long career with the National Insurance Company of India.

Garg holds an MBA from the University of Lucknow, and is a fellow of the Insurance Institute of India.
